A reminder that there is no school tomorrow due to the Good Friday stat holiday.  Please note that students return to school on Monday, April 6 as Easter Monday is not a stat holiday and is a regular school day.

Alien Inline Residency – Continues next week
It has been a great week of inline skating so far. Skating will continue all next week and each class will have a total of 3 skating times over the course of the Alien Inline residency. Please dress in comfortable clothing and wear socks. Alien Inline has some available helmets; however, all students are strongly encouraged to bring their own certified helmet. Thank you, AMPA, for funding this residency. Because this activity requires putting on safety gear and tying up skates, we are asking if parents could volunteer to help the younger students put on and take off all their gear. If you can volunteer, please email our AMPA volunteer coordinator, Jennifer Bestward at ampavolunteers@gmail.com

IMPORTANT – FAMILY SKATE NIGHT – April 9 | 6-8pm
We are excited to be hosting a family skating night next Thursday (April 9) from 6-8pm.  Alien Inline will be facilitating this event. There will be two 1-hour sessions: the first from 6pm-7pm and then another one from 7pm-8pm. Space is limited to 75 participants per session. If you would like to participate, please click here to sign up. Alien Inline has lots of equipment available to use, including adult size skates and protective gear, however you are welcome to bring your own skates, helmet, and/or protective gear if you would prefer.

Soccer Club Message from Ms. Saadi

Hello Alex Munro families,

I’m excited to share that I have started a soccer club for students in Division 2! Students will be committing to two practices each week as they build their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all leading up to a special event — a Teacher/Parent vs. Student Soccer Match.

This is where we would love your support! If you are interested in participating in the game, helping on the sidelines, or volunteering as a coach for the day, please fill out the attached Google Form

Event Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026
Time: 1:30 – 3:30 PM

All students, families, and community members are more than welcome to come watch and cheer on our players! More details will be shared as the date approaches.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at rasaadi@cbe.ab.ca

Warmly,
Ms. Saadi

Lost and Found
We have many items in the lost and found. You are welcome to visit the school to see if there are items belonging to your child. Please come and browse through the lost and found before the end of April as we will be donating all remaining items to charity on May 1. We recommend labeling all clothing items, especially outer winter wear, to help us return items to their rightful owners.

Bottle Drive Fridays
Just like last year, you can donate your refundable bottles to AMPA by dropping them off at the front of the school (by the free little library) every Friday. Our goal this year is to raise $2000 through our bottle drive Fridays.
