The new Gagaball pit has been an absolute hit!  The students are loving learning the gameplay and participating in Gagaball tournaments during outside playtime.  Thank you so much AMPA for funding this great addition to our school yard!

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow and Friday (Feb 13 and14) due to Teachers’ Convention as well as Monday, Feb 17 for family day holiday Monday.

As Family Day approaches, let's take a moment to reflect on the important role families play in raising secure and confident students. Family Day is more than just a day off; it's a cherished opportunity to prioritize what truly matters – our loved ones. Wishing you all a joyful and memorable Family Day doing something your family enjoys the most!

February is Black History Month
Each February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and celebrations that honour the legacy and contributions of Black people in Canada and their communities.

The 2025 theme for Black History Month is: “Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations.” This theme acknowledges the diversity of Black Canadians, the importance of Black leadership and the legacy being built for future generations. Black communities are diverse at many levels. Those with a long history in this country have established a legacy for the newer communities. The theme underscores that Black Canadians have a rightful place in the nation's narrative, with over 400 years of historical presence on these Indigenous lands, deserving acknowledgment and celebration.

We invite all Canadians to learn more about Black Canadian communities, and how they continue to help shape Canada. Noteworthy Figures: Read the biographies of some notable Black people in Canada who have helped shape Canadian heritage and identity, and who have made and continue to make enormous contributions to the wellbeing, and prosperity of our country.

Term 2 – Mathematics Marks will Be Published in PowerSchool
Starting this term, teachers will be publishing marks and assignment updates in PowerSchool on an ongoing basis. Approximately 1x/month. This will give parents the opportunity to view current marks through MyCBE PowerSchool on a more regular basis. Please ensure you have a parent account set up in order to see marks, report cards, fees, etc. For parents without a MyCBE account, to create one see: MyCBE - Creating an Account

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
Our patrols are doing a great job helping everyone cross at our crosswalk on 78th Ave, however many people are still jaywalking at various points in front of and on the west side of the school.  For the safety of all, please use the crosswalk. We also need to remind all parents and community members that the speed limit in and around the school is 30km or lower.  Please drive slowly in these zones and pay close attention to all your surroundings as we have had some reports of drivers going too fast as well as students crossing in unsafe ways.  Let’s take care of each other by following these traffic/pedestrian expectations. Thank you for supporting the safety of our students.
