To support our planning for next year, we are asking families to let us know their current before and after school childcare arrangements (if any) and if there is an interest in having more before and after school childcare options available to Alex Munro families. We are asking all families (including those who don’t currently use childcare) to take this quick 2 min survey prior to Fri, Feb 23. Thank You!

Black History Month
During the month of February, Calgary Board of Education students and staff will celebrate and explore the many contributions of Black Canadians, peoples, and communities worldwide. Black History Month is an opportunity for schools to amplify and spotlight the innovative, courageous, and inspiring voices, stories, and contributions of Black Canadians and communities. Throughout the month of February, the Calgary Public Library is hosting events dedicated to celebrating the lives, legacies, and voices of Black peoples and communities.

On Sunday, Feb. 25, the Central Library in partnership with the Chinook County Historical Society will be hosting a screening and discussion of the film John Ware Reclaimed by filmmaker Cheryl Foggo, which follows her quest to re-examine the mythology surrounding John Ware, the Black cowboy who settled Alberta before the turn of the 20th Century. Foggo's research uncovers who this iconic figure might have been, and what his legacy means in terms of anti-Black racism.
