Happy 2025! We hope everyone had a great break. We are so excited for the learning and growth ahead in the new year! The students have loved having Elder Shirley Hill work with them this week! They learned many traditional Blackfoot teachings through storytelling in a very engaging manner with a small friend named Lemon (teddy bear). They also learned the art of hoop dancing and practiced many different moves with the hoops. Most importantly, students were immersed in a week of belonging and connection with Elder Shirley and her gift of listening and sharing with students. The January School Council and Parent Association Meetings will be Monday night @6:15pm online. A link for the meeting will be sent on Monday morning. Elev8 Lacrosse Residency | Jan. 13-16
Next week we will be welcoming Elev8 Lacrosse to introduce the grade 1-6 students to the sport of Lacrosse and develop some of the skills associated with the sport. Lacrosse is Canada’s oldest sport and is recognised as one of two of Canada’s national sports (the other being Ice Hockey). This will be an exciting opportunity for our students, and we are looking forward to learning Lacrosse next week! Again, thank you AMPA for funding this opportunity!
