This week was the final week of gymnastics with the students completing a Mission Impossible style obstacle course to practice their balancing, climbing, crawling and jumping. What a great three weeks of practicing our gymnastic skills. The students really enjoyed these three great weeks in the gym!

School Drop off and Pick Up
We are asking for your support in helping us maintain positive relationships with our neighbours during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times. We have received several concerns from community members regarding vehicles parking in front of residential driveways and stopping too close to intersections and crosswalks, especially at the intersection of Huntwick Way and 78th Ave (where the patrollers monitor the crosswalk). Please remember that parking is not permitted within 5 metres of a crosswalk or intersection, and driveways.

Out of respect for the families who live around our school, we kindly ask that you plan a few extra minutes for arrival and departure, park legally, and model safe, considerate behaviour for our students. This includes using the crosswalks as some families are encouraging their children to jaywalk by running quickly across the street in front of the school. Please model courteous and safe behaviour for our students.

School Council Meeting – March 9 @6:15pm Online
The March school council meeting will be held on Monday, March 9th at 6:15pm online.  The link for the meeting will be sent home next Monday morning. School administration will be presenting about school planning, budget and fees for the 2026-27 school year.  This is an important meeting and parents are encouraged to attend to learn about our planning for next year and to provide us with feedback.

Report Cards and Parent Teacher Conferences
Report cards are now available to view or download via your myCBE/PowerSchool account.  If you have any questions regarding your child’s report cards, please email your child’s teacher.  You will also have an opportunity to discuss the report card and other aspects of your child’s learning and progress at Parent Student Teacher conferences, which will be on March 20. The online system to book a conference with your child’s teacher will be available to families through your MyCBE as of March 12/2026.

Our next fun lunch will Little Caesars on Tuesday, March 17. Orders can be made online at www.healthyhunger.ca

Student Fees
All school fees and field trip fees can be viewed through your MyCBE account.  Most of the yearly fees are added to accounts in the fall, however, some fees (such as field trip fees) are added to your account throughout the school year. You may log in to your MyCBE account to view which fees are paid and/or are outstanding.  For more information on school fees please refer to the CBE fees website

Some families have outstanding fees from last school year. If you need assistance with last year's fees, please consider:

  • Applying for a Central Fee Waiver.  The CBE is currently offering extensions for 2024–25 waivers until June 30, 2026. Please reach out to FeeWaiver@cbe.ab.ca for more information.
  • Requesting a Payment Plan by contacting StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca. A payment plan requires a signed commitment to pay a minimum of $20 per month toward 2024–25 central fees.

Lost and Found
We have many items in the lost and found. You are welcome to visit the school to see if there are items belonging to your child. Our March 20 PST Conferences will be a great opportunity to do so! We recommend labeling all clothing items, especially outer winter wear, to help us return items to their rightful owners.

Bottle Drive Fridays
Just like last year, you can donate your refundable bottles to AMPA by dropping them off at the front of the school (by the free little library) every Friday. Our goal this year is to raise $2000 through our bottle drive Fridays.
