On Tuesday this week, many students dressed in green to recognize St. Patrick’s Day. A leprechaun also visited the school briefly in the morning which was a delight for the students! Parent Teacher Conferences (Last Chance to Book a time tonight at 8pm!)
Tomorrow you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and progress at Parent Student Teacher conferences, which will be tomorrow March 20. The online system to book a conference with your child’s teacher will be available to families through your MyCBE. If you haven’t booked an appointment yet, please do so before 8:00 pm tonight as the booking system closes then. If you are unable book online before the deadline tonight, please call the school tomorrow morning and we will do our best to find you a time for an interview. The grade 2’s are proud to be celebrating and presenting their learning with a sharing assembly today at 3pm. All parents are welcome to attend. Scholastic Book Fair – March 16-20
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Alex Munro School next week, March 16-20. Each class will have the opportunity to browse the books on Monday and Tuesday, and purchasing starts on Wednesday, March 18. On Friday, March 20 the book fair will be open 8am-3:30pm so families can browse and/or purchase books during parent-teacher conferences. Happy Reading!
Alien Inline Residency – March 30-April 10
We are excited to be welcoming Alien Inline to our school this spring which was postponed back in November. Each class will receive 3 one-hour sessions of learning the techniques and skills of inline skating. Please dress in comfortable clothing and wear socks. Alien Inline has some available helmets; however, all students are strongly encouraged to bring their own certified helmet. Thank you, AMPA, for funding this residency. Because this activity requires putting on safety gear and tying up skates, we are asking if parents could volunteer to help the younger students put on and take off all their gear. If you can volunteer, please email our AMPA volunteer coordinator, Jennifer Bestward at ampavolunteers@gmail.comThis year we will be adding a family skating evening on April 9 hosted by Alien Inline from 6-8pm. Students will be committing to two practices each week as they build their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all leading up to a special event — a Teacher/Parent vs. Student Soccer Match. We have many items in the lost and found. You are welcome to visit the school to see if there are items belonging to your child. Our March 20 PST Conferences will be a great opportunity to do so! We recommend labeling all clothing items, especially outer winter wear, to help us return items to their rightful owners. Bottle Drive Fridays
Just like last year, you can donate your refundable bottles to AMPA by dropping them off at the front of the school (by the free little library) every Friday. Our goal this year is to raise $2000 through our bottle drive Fridays. Upcoming Important Dates:
