This week the students have been learning various circus tricks including juggling, plate spinning, diablo, flower sticks, and other circus arts. It has been so much fun! Thank you, Green Fools, for the experience.  We would also like to thank AMPA for funding this great experience. Parent volunteers, we couldn’t have done this without you! Our last day is Monday, May 5.

Family Literacy Night – May 8 | 6:30 – 8:00 pm
We are excited to invite all families to our Family Literacy Night on Thursday, May 8 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Families will be invited to visit various stations around the school focused on reading, writing, vocabulary, oral storytelling, phonics, comprehension and more! You will have a chance to visit the Scholastic Book Fair and win some door prizes. We are also thrilled that Elder Shirley will be back to share stories and songs. Come one and all! Students must attend with a parent/sibling over 18.

Scholastic Book Fair | Purchasing on May 8-9
We are excited to once again host the Scholastic Book Fair at our school. Browsing will occur on May 5,6,7 and students may purchase on May 8 and 9 during their Learning Commons time. The book fair will also be open for families in the evening on Thursday, May 8 during Family Literacy Night.

Outdoor Learning Space Spring Clean Up – This Weekend!
It's here! The spring clean up is this Sunday from 2:30-4. Come and join us for a beautiful afternoon with your family in our naturalization space. We are expecting sun and warmth and it should be a lovely day in the fresh air!

At 2:30, kids can select their own jobs for stewardship in the garden

At 3:00, we'll be running a 'Regrow Your Dinner' demonstration, where we will learn to take table scraps and turn them into fresh veggies in our very own garden. During this session, we will be learning about carrots, onions and peppers. Kids can plant in the naturalization space or take-home starters and seeds for their own garden space.

Please bring your eggshells and coffee grounds from breakfast!!

See you there!

Please Help Our School by Getting involved with Parent Council (AMPA)
The Alex Munro Parent Association (AMPA) and School Council meet once a month to make important decisions that support our students. Please consider joining our monthly meetings which happen every 2nd Monday of each month at 6:15pm.  All meetings are online, making it easy for you to join from the comfort of your home. The June meeting is on June 9 with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) following the regular meeting. The Parent Council AGM is a very important meeting as it is the opportunity for parents to nominate and choose executive members for next school year. Please save this date.  Thank you.

Country Hills Community Member Playground Survey
Calling on Country Hills neighbours!
The Country Hills Playground Boosters are still collecting ideas for a new playground at Country Hills Circle NW. Feedback from Country Hills residents is vital to shaping the new playground. We are not fundraising at this time--simply collecting ideas.
