The students have been having a great time learning the fundamentals of soccer from Coach Scott and are thrilled that he will be back next week.

Thanks to all the families who came out for our outdoor learning space spring clean-up. The front of the school looks great!

Also, a big shout out to AMPA for funding for all the bussing for our field trips this year.  This funding has greatly reduced field trip fees for our families.  Thank you so much for their generosity and for supporting all these fun student learning experiences at Alex Munro!

PASS Soccer Residency
The students have been enjoying the PASS Soccer coaching so far. PASS will be here for two more days, June 3 and 5, to continue their soccer skills program for all students in grades 1-6. Participation in this opportunity is the student’s regular daily P.E. experience. There is no cost to families and the entire cost is generously being paid for by AMPA.  The experience is fun, active, and meets curriculum outcomes for all grades.  Experienced soccer coach, Scott Irons, has been enjoying working with our students and is looking forward to two more days of soccer fun next week!

A Message from AMPA Garden/Naturalization Committee
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out this Saturday, cleaning up the naturalization space. We had over 20 people come through and several students came on their own, showing amazing dedication to our school community. We cleaned up the old leaves, needles and garbage, fertilized the plants and turned the south beds for classes to begin planting. We had a lot of fun hunting for strawberries, saskatoons, rhubarb and chives! The water barrel is also full and a watering can is available any time for students to water their favourite plants as they pass through the space.

Patrol Picnic at Heritage Park – Volunteers Needed
Our AMA patrollers are capping off a great year with a trip to the AMA patroller picnic at Heritage Park on June 6.  If you are a patrol parent or another willing parent with a completed volunteer registration and Calgary Police ePIC clearance, and are interested in coming as a volunteer, please email Ms. Sasha at slgardiner@cbe.ab.ca

Lost and Found
We wanted to let families know that we do have many items in the lost and found.  These items will be donated at the end of the year if they are not collected by families.  We will be sure to invite students to peruse the lost and found.  You are also welcome to visit the school to see if there are items belonging to your child.

AMPA Bottle Drive Fridays
AMPA would like to remind everyone that they continue to accept empty bottles every Friday.  All you need to do is leave your bag of empties at the front of the school. Thank you everyone who has been donating their bottles this year. AMPA is hoping to reach our goal of $2,000.00 by the end of the school year.
