The Sir John A. MacDonald Concert and Jazz Band visited us Tuesday morning with an excellent performance. Many students were thrilled to see their older siblings performing in the band. It was a great showcase of the excellent band/music program at SJAM!
New Before and After School Childcare starting this Fall | Grades 1-6
Alex Munro School is pleased to be welcoming a new before and after school childcare program for grades 1-6 that will be run onsite in the Alex Munro School gym by Active Minds Childcare Inc.

The program will provide before school childcare starting at 7am until our morning bell (8:50am) and after school childcare from 3:29pm until 6pm.

Silly Sock Spring Sock Hop
On May 16th students are invited to wear their silly socks for the lunch hour Silly Sock Spring Sock Hop in the gym. Thanks to DJ Chris for donating his time and equipment for this fun event.

AMPA Bottle Drive Fridays
AMPA would like to remind everyone that they continue to accept empty bottles every Friday. All you need to do is leave your bag of empties at the front of the school. Thank you everyone who has been donating their bottles this year. We appreciate your support.
Growing Smiles Plant Pick Up – May 21st
AMPA will have the Growing Smiles orders available for pick on May 21st from 3:00pm- 4:00pm in the school gym. You can pick up your orders by going to the North gym door by the naturalization outdoor classroom to the right of the main doors.
AMPA’s Next Casino Dates | Oct 5 and 6
Having the opportunity to provide volunteers to support casino operations is an important fundraiser for organizations such as schools as it brings in significant funds that go directly to improving student learning experiences. Please save these dates in your calendar as AMPA will require numerous volunteers for both dates (day and night shifts). More information about signing up and positions will be available in the next few weeks. If you would like more information please reach out to parent council with your name and phone number at alexmunroschoolcouncil@gmail.com and they will provide you with more details on how you can help out.

Green Shirt Fridays
Help build school spirit by wearing your Alex Munro school shirt on Fridays. You are also welcome to wear any green shirt that day as well.
