It has been a great few months of learning and everyone deserves a restful and relaxing fall break which starts tomorrow and runs until November 13 with students returning to school on Thursday, November 14.

Thank you grade 3’s for hosting a moving and memorable Remembrance Day assembly today and thank you to all parents who attended this meaningful event.

Winter Concerts
In December, Alex Munro School will be hosting 2 evening winter concerts. On December 5th, kindergarten, grade 1 and 2 will be performing at 6:30pm. On December 12th, grade 3,4,5 and 6 will be performing at 6:30pm. Due to fire restrictions and gym capacity, each family can request up to 3 tickets for the concert(s). To keep the ticket distribution process organized, each classroom has a unique link for ticket requests. Teachers will be sending these links today.  Please look out for an email from your child’s teacher with the link for requesting tickets. Tickets will be sent home a week before the concerts. If additional seats are available after all families have had the opportunity to reserve their 3 spots, we will give an opportunity for families to request more tickets.

Alien Inline Skating Residency – Nov 18-26
We are excited to be welcoming Alien Inline who will be teaching our students the techniques and skills of inline skating. Each class will receive 3 one-hour sessions. Please dress in comfortable clothing and wear socks. Alien Inline has some available helmets; however, all students are strongly encouraged to bring their own certified helmet. Thank you AMPA for funding this residency. Because this activity requires putting on safety gear and tying up skates, we are asking if parents could volunteer to help the younger students put on and take off all their gear. If you can volunteer, please email our AMPA volunteer coordinator, Jacqueline McPhee at ampavolunteers@gmail.com
