For the last two Thursdays the students have had the opportunity to learn to curl through the Rock and Rings program which uses “floor curling” sets in our gym.  This activity was led by instructor Willie who did a great job teaching the students the basic skills and rules of curling. All the students were excited to practice and play.  As part of the arrangement with Rock and Rings, our school was selected as one of the few schools who get to keep the floor curling sets which is great news so we can now practice and play games anytime we want! 

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year began on January 15, 2024. Registration is completed online. More information is located here: https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/registration/Pages/default.aspx   

Gymnastics Instruction | January 22 – February 8
Teachers will be setting up the gym for an exploration of gymnastics. Mats, balance beams, ladders, vaults, and even the wall climber will be set up to help students learn gymnastics skills. All teachers have been trained and are excited about the teaching and learning. Please ensure the following appropriate attire for this time period (teachers will be helping with this as well):  - Head: long hair pulled back Ears/Throat/Wrist: jewelry off  - Shirt: one layer shirt  - Waist: tucked in  - Pants: sporty pants or shorts, no belts or zippers   - Toes: bare feet, or running shoes laces tied and tucked in 

Extreme Weather
When the temperature is below minus 20 degrees Celsius, students may enter in the morning at 8:35 AM.  We noticed that some students are arriving before this time.  Please ensure that you do not arrive prior to 8:35 AM as there is no teacher supervision before this time.  Thanks for your help with reminding students to do up coats, and wear hats, mittens and snow pants in extreme weather and we will do the same at school. 

Fees
All school fees and field trip fees can be viewed by logging into your MyCBE account.  Most of the yearly fees are added to accounts in the fall, however, some fees (such as field trip fees) are added to your account throughout the school year.
