Last week's Halloween dance was so much fun! Having the gym filled with parents and students socializing and dancing was great to see. Thanks to AMPA for sponsoring and organizing this great family event. We also want to acknowledge all the great support from parent volunteers who have been helping (or are planning to) with the various field trips this year.  It's great that we are back in full swing with offering offsite experiences for our students and parent volunteers are a big part of making these trips happen.

Remembrance Day Assembly – Nov 7
Due to fall break and the availability of Ms. Nicole, our music teacher, we will be holding our Remembrance Day assembly on a date and time that is different from tradition, however the assembly will follow the same protocols. Our grade 3 students will be hosting a Remembrance Day assembly next Tuesday, Nov 7. Please arrive at 1:00 pm. All parents and family members are welcome to attend. Students involved with Guides or Scouts are encouraged to wear their uniforms on Nov 7.
Veterans Food Drive  November is an important month where we remember the sacrifices of all the Canadians that served the country to support peace and democracy. The Veteran food bank helps support many of these service members. Alex Munro school will be collecting non-perishable food for the Veterans food bank for the few weeks around Remembrance Day. Students can bring in donations anytime over the next few weeks. If are planning to attend the Remembrance Day assembly on Nov 7 and would like to donate, collection bins will be available at the entrance of the gymnasium.
AMPA November Parent Council Meeting – Monday, November 6  The November parent council meeting is next Monday at @6:15pm Online. A link for the meeting will be sent out next Monday morning. All parents are welcome to attend.
AMPA Bottle Drive and Fundraising News  AMPA continues to collect bottles every Friday – just drop your bottles off at the front of the school every Friday and they will take care of the rest! Thanks to everyone who has already participated in this fundraiser. AMPA will also be kicking off their next fundraiser Nov 7. They will be sending home information about this fundraiser with your child next week.
Fall Break  A reminder that there is no school for students from November 9 until November 14. Enjoy your fall break. Classes will start again on November 15.
