Thank you to all the families who came out last Saturday to pitch in with the outdoor learning space clean up. It was a lot of fun with a hot chocolate bonus for all the hard workers. 

The grade 6 outdoor school is going great!  Both Ms. Sasha and I spent some time out there with them and can report that they are having a blast!  Between the daytime activities and the campfire songs it has truly been a once in a lifetime experience for our grade 6’s. The students will be returning today and I’m sure they will be very tired and will sleep well tonight!   

A reminder that tomorrow (Friday, Oct 20) is a professional learning day for Teachers – No School for Students 

Grade 5 Celebration of Learning (assembly)  Our grade 5 students will be showcasing some of their learning so far this year, next Friday Oct 27 at 12:30pm for their celebration of learning assembly.  Anyone is welcome to attend. 

AMPA fall fundraiser  Check your child’s backpack this week for a letter and brochure regarding the latest fundraiser from AMPA that runs from Oct 18 to Nov 1. We appreciate your support.   

AMPA Halloween Dance – Next Thursday (Oct 26)  AMPA will be hosting a family Halloween dance on Oct 26 in the evening from 6-8:30pm. This is a family dance so you can come as a family, including siblings that do not currently attend Alex Munro school.  Dressing up in a costume is encouraged and makes it more fun for everyone! (adults included).  Please keep in mind that we do not allow any representation of weapons, vision limiting masks, or anything that is gory (costumes that depict violence or bloodshed).  

Concessions will be available with a wide range of drinks and snacks for a dollar each. 

For families who would like a more sensory friendly dance experience, AMPA will be offering a special time between 5:30-6pm with softer music and no lighting so that students who get overwhelmed easily can still enjoy the dance.
